These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kano Line website and mobile application (collectively, the "Platform") operated by Kano Line Motors Limited ("Kano Line", "we", "us"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Platform.
By registering an account, booking a trip, or using any feature of the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform immediately.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age (or 13 with parental consent) to create an account and use the Platform.
- By using the Platform, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.
- Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You may not share your login credentials with others.
2. Account Registration
- You must register an account to access booking and payment features.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at support@kanoline.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Booking and Ticketing
- Trip bookings are subject to seat availability and route schedules published on the Platform.
- A booking is confirmed only after successful payment and issuance of a digital ticket.
- Tickets are non-transferable and are issued in the name of the registered passenger.
- You must present your valid digital ticket (via the app or printed copy) when boarding.
- Kano Line reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trips due to operational, safety, or force majeure circumstances with reasonable notice where possible.
4. Fares, Payments and Wallet
- Fares are set by Kano Line and may change without prior notice due to fuel costs, route adjustments, or regulatory changes.
- Payments must be made through the Platform's approved payment methods.
- The wallet feature allows you to fund a balance for use in booking trips. Wallet funds are non-refundable to bank accounts unless the trip was cancelled by Kano Line.
- We use third-party payment processors. By making payments, you also agree to their terms of service.
- Any disputes about charges must be raised within 30 days of the transaction.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
- Passenger-initiated cancellations: Cancellations made more than 24 hours before departure may be eligible for a credit refund to your wallet. No cash refunds are issued.
- Same-day cancellations: No refund is applicable for cancellations within 24 hours of departure.
- Kano Line-initiated cancellations: If we cancel a trip, you will receive a full wallet credit for the fare paid.
- Refund decisions are at the discretion of Kano Line management and are final unless successfully appealed.
6. Passenger Conduct
By using Kano Line services, you agree to:
- Comply with all instructions given by Kano Line staff and drivers.
- Arrive at the terminal at least 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.
- Not board under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
- Not bring dangerous, hazardous, or illegal items on board.
- Treat fellow passengers, drivers and staff with respect.
- Not engage in any disruptive behaviour during transit.
Violation of these conduct rules may result in removal from the vehicle without refund and permanent account suspension.
7. Prohibited Activities
You must not:
- Use the Platform for any fraudulent or illegal purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or compromise the Platform's security.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or bans.
- Misrepresent your identity or provide false information.
- Resell or transfer tickets obtained through the Platform.
- Use automated bots or scripts to access the Platform.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including logos, text, graphics, software, and design — is the property of Kano Line Motors Limited. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Kano Line shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific trip giving rise to the claim.
- We are not liable for delays, accidents, or disruptions caused by factors beyond our control (traffic, weather, civil unrest, etc.).
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that the Platform will always be error-free or secure.
11. Third-Party Services
The Platform integrates third-party services (payment processors, mapping services, etc.). Kano Line is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party services. Your use of such services is governed by the respective third-party terms.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through mutual negotiation.
- Unresolved disputes shall be referred to arbitration in Kano, Nigeria, under applicable arbitration rules.
- The courts of Kano State shall have jurisdiction over any matter not subject to arbitration.
13. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may also delete your account by contacting our support team.
